So.. I went to church this morning. :) Yes, I, Judy, went to church. Lol. I'm not even gonna front, I haven't been to church in.. a year? year and a half? smh. Should I just say.. A long ass time. Lol. It feels good to finally get back into church. My main reason was, "Oh, it's too early, I don't have time." I dedicate so much time to school and work, why not an hour and a half, ONCE a week to the ONLY man who's always going to be there for me no matter what? I'm not what you would call 'religious' but God is always first in my book. :) I finally decided to put all my problems in His hands and stopped worrying about it. God won't put an obstacle in front of me that he can't get me through. Life is so much better. Everything has looked up. My mom, little sister and I have a stronger bond than ever, love (or getting there) is going smoothly, school is easy, money is no problem, I still can't sleep at night though. I think it's bc I have insomnia. Lol.
"The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That's the first thing that I'd do." -- Senator Barack Obama
Okay so my last post was basically all for Obama. In church this morning, the priest brought up the subject of FOCA, the Freedom of Choice Act. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for freedom of choice, but to a certain extent. If you're sick, or either you or the baby are going to die if you don't abort, then go for it. But knowing the consequences of your actions - that having sex can AND will eventually lead to a baby - and you don't "want" it, or it's not "the right time", and you get rid of the child? There ARE options. These days, if you're SURE you don't want to keep it, have it, you don't have to go through the adoption papers, you can leave the child at a fire station or at a hospital. This act is basically stating that the people are going to pay taxes so that a mother can have an abortion. Wait. So you want me to pay FOR a girl to kill her baby? No, thank you. FOCA will strike down other laws, both state and federal, that reduce abortions, and will force states to make abortion an easy task. If FOCA is passed, it would mean 125,000 more abortions in the US per year.
My roomie is pregnant, my friend is pregnant, and so is three of my co-workers. Four out of six is getting rid of the baby. -sighs. It's sad.
That's all.
